According to reports, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger are reportedly interested in bringing Barcelona midfielder Rafinha to North London.
The 24 year old, is yet to feature for Spanish La Liga giant Barcelona this campaign due to a knee ligament problem.
The Brazil international midfielder is expected to return to complete fitness later in December, but is unlikely to play any role in Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona plans.
He has been strongly linked with transfers away from the Camp Nou in recent campaigns, but has decided to remain at the club in a bid to seal a first-team shirt for himself.
Rafinha’s father Mazinho – who is also the midfielder’s agent – insisted back in May that the Brazilian has no interest in leaving the Catalan club.
But since new Barcelona boss Valverde took charge, he appears to have changed his stance.
Spanish publication SuperDeporte reported the player is now finding a way out of the Spanish club later in the New Year.
It is widely believed he wants to leave so as to boost his chances of making Brazil National team’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad in Russia next summer.
And the Gunners are apparently keen on bringing the player to the emirates Stadium as they bid to find a long-term replacement for unsettled Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil.
