The North London giant have frequently been strongly linked with the FC Barcelona outcast, who’s struggled hard to secure his place at the Nou Camp.
CNN Turk reports that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is eager to bring in the 30-year-old, and has already opened negotiations with the player’s agents.
Turkish giant Galatasaray are also in frequent contact with Arda Turan, but it’s believed the North London side are favourites to capture his signature.
Arsenal centre-half Shkodran Mustafi looks prepared for an extended injury spell on the sidelines after limping out of Germany’s 5-1 FIFA World Cup qualifying match victory over Azerbaijan.
The defender was forced off after just 36 minutes of the clash in Kaiserslautern with what German tactician Joachim Low described as a severe muscle problem.
The tactician was quoted as saying by sport1.de that the injury will probably force the Arsenal star to have an extended lay-off.
The Germany international defender has played five matches for The Gunners in the English Premier League so far this campaign.
