BBC and BT Sport presenter Gary Lineker reacted on Twitter after watching the Arsenal performance against Sporting CP 1-0 in Lisbon to make 11 wins in all competition.
Danny Welbeck’s second-half goal was enough to seal the points for Emery’s side, and make it 11 wins in a row in all competitions.
Unai Emery took over from Arsene Wenger in the summer following the Frenchman 22 years in charge of Arsenal and Lineker believes the former Paris Saint-Germain boss is proving to be an excellent appointment.
Emery has also found praise from former Arsenal defender Martin Keown, who is impressed with the Gunners boss’ work in north London.
Speaking before the Sporting clash, Keown told the Daily Mail : “Their attacking football bears all the hallmarks of Arsene Wenger. What Unai Emery is doing is getting the team to dig deeper in a way Wenger was not able to at the end of his tenure.
“It’s as if they need a shock to jolt them into gear. Now, I want to see even more from their two strikers.”
