DONE DEAL: Arsenal completes another major summer transfer many fans don’t know about

West London club Chelsea have completed the signing of Omari Hutchinson from rivals Arsenal.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder was a key figure for Arsenal team which finished third in Premier League 2 last campaign.

A skilful player with the ability to open up defences, he featured predominantly as a central attacking midfielder or on the right wing during his time in north London, but can also play across the front three.

Hutchinson was named among the substitutes for Mikel Arteta’s senior team on a number of occasions in the 2021/22 campaign, including their Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool, and most recently when Arsenal visited Stamford Bridge in the Premier League in late April.

Born in Surrey, the playmaker has represented England at youth level, but made his senior international debut for Jamaica in a friendly against Catalonia in May of this year.

Blues head of youth recruitment Jim Fraser said: “We are delighted that Omari has agreed to sign for Chelsea. He is a brilliant addition who joins us as an exciting emerging talent hoping to make a quick impression in the senior game.”
