Arsenal have struck a deal with Ooyla to bring its Flex Media Platform to Arsenal’s existing media services, expanding their current relationship.
Ooyla is a behind-the-scenes system that will help Arsenal manage their video assets, automate workflow, and help streamline delivery to fans via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Arsenal.com and wherever else they post video content.
Arsenal currently use Ooyla’s platform to deliver live and on-demand video, racking up half a million video starts for the first pre-season game against Boreham Wood.
“Arsenal is one of the most famous global brands in the world’s most popular sport,” said Ooyala CEO Jonathan Huberman.
“It was Arsenal’s need to connect with fans around the world, on every device, platform and language — and to do so easily and profitably — that drew it to our platform, which powers a vast array of clients in the media and sports sectors.
“In the sports video universe, fan engagement is all about getting the right videos to the right fans on every device and platform, all at flawless quality and speed. Today’s fans expect nothing less.
“Arsenal has brilliantly built and burnished its brand, and managing its audience engagement with the right video support is crucial to that ongoing process.”
Ben Ladkin from Arsenal Media Group added: “Ooyala has been an invaluable partner for years, but the value of our relationship extends far beyond technology. Ooyala’s forward thinking has helped enable our own innovation, powering new and exciting video experiences to Arsenal fans across the world.”
