Former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner believes that Liverpool will beat Arsenal on Saturday because their attacking lineup will be too much for Arsenal’s defence, according to the Express.
The two teams head into the game with unbeaten runs, with Jurgen Klopp’s side unbeaten in their 10 Premier League games so far this season, while Arsenal have steadied the ship after a bad opening two games under Unai Emery. They are unbeaten in their last 13 games in all competitions, with just one draw in that time.
However, the Gunners recent run has not impressed some pundits because according to some they have not come up against strong opposition which might be true to some extent.
Mariner, like many, believes the clash against Liverpool will be the biggest test so far for the Gunners, but he feels Liverpool will outclass them.
“Massive game,” Mariner said.
“We’ve been waiting for the test for Arsenal. Many wins under the belt.
“Liverpool’s forward line is absolutely ridiculous.
“I’m not sure about the defence, we’ll find out about the Arsenal defence.
“I’ve got Liverpool 2-0.”
ESPN presenter Mark Donaldson agreed with the result, but not the scoreline.
“2-0?” he replied.
“I think they will win but I think it will be a bit closer than that.”
We will find out if they are right with their predictions when the two teams face each other on Saturday evening.
