Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal look a superior team when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in Unai Emery’s starting line-up.
The Gunners striker came off the bench in the second half to score two quick-fire goals to help Arsenal secure a 3-1 win over Leicester City at The Emirates on Monday night.
But former Liverpool FC defender Carragher believes Emery should accommodate Aubameyang in his starting side, even if it means playing the African striker on the wing.
“He has to start,” Carragher told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“There will always be that thing whether Aubameyang and Lacazette can play in the same team. He has almost played in that Salah position on the wing.
“I think it is a must Aubameyang plays. Arsenal look much better when he plays.”
Aubameyang moved to Arsenal in a £58m deal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window to become the final signing of the Wenger era.
