Former England boss Sam Allardyce has tagged Laurent Koscielny ‘soft’ after the Arsenal captain criticized France Coach Didier Deschamps, as per the Metro.
The Arsenal centre-back disclosed his disappointment at the lack of contact from the National team coach after he got injured.
He ruptured his Achilles tendon during a UEFA Europa League match against La Liga side Atletico Madrid in May which saw him miss out on France World Cup team
Speaking on his disappointment, he said ‘When you are in good form, you have lots of friends. When you are injured… after a certain period of time, you are forgotten about,’
‘He [Deschamps] called me once for my birthday in September.
‘Otherwise, no. Lots of people disappointed me. Not only the coach.’
Big Sam however doesn’t share his sentiment and believes that the 31-year-old is wrong for expecting constant contact from the World Cup winning coach while he is injured.
‘Get over yourself,’ Allardyce said.
‘Deschamps has got so much going on, to ring up a player, to ring up and see how they are all the time. I just don’t get it. ‘It’s not one phone call.”
