Inside sources confirm Arsenal first January signing

ANSA report that Unai Emery would like to bring Banega to the Emirates to give some ‘order to the tactical set-up of his team’. They claim Arsenal have already made the Argentine international an offer, and are now ‘waiting for a response’. The Gunners reportedly have ‘no problems’ covering the midfielder’s €20m release clause in full.

ANSA have a good reputation in Italy, with a Digital News Report by the Reuters Institute scoring themas the most reliable brand in the country this year. Whether that translates to transfer stories about Arsenal, we’ll have to wait and see.

Earlier this week, Radio La Red, back in Banega’s home country of Argentina, reported that Boca Juniors got in contact with the player to gauge his interest in a move back to the club that first gave him a chance in senior football. However, they were informed that Arsenal have already tabled a ‘concrete offer’ for the midfielder.
