Merseyside club Everton could be without ace Morgan Schneiderlin for Sunday’s English Premier League clash with the Gunners after the midfielder sustained an injury in their UEFA Europa League loss to Ligue 1 side Lyon.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman decided to rest some of his top players on Thursday with Idrissa Gueye dropped to the bench and striker Wayne Rooney and defender Phil Jagielka excluded from the match day squad completely.
Morgan Schneiderlin lined up with Tom Davies in midfield, making a remarkable goal-saving challenge in the second-stanza to thwart Myziane Maolida and deny Ligue 1 side Lyon a second goal.
The Ex- Manchester United midfielder look to sustain an ankle knock in making that decisive challenge however and despite trying to carry on with the game, he was substituted after 57 minutes with former Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson replacing him.
With the visit of Arsene Wenger’s team just three days away, the Frenchman is now doubtful for that encounter.
